Day 209 - Un giro in centro 1/3 - A trip downtown 1/3

Quando lasci il Compound o il Fanateer, la zona bella di Jubail, per entrare nel cosiddetto Suq lo scenario cambia eccome. A prima vista c'è poco da ridere, ceffi strani ovunque: fossi a Torino avrei paura e cercherei la fuga. Il mio primo giro nel Suq risale a quasi due anni fa con un gruppo di colleghi, tutti occidentali andammo al mitico ristorante indiano Cooxon. Lì ebbi un po' di paura, meglio dire 'disagio' (no in realtà me la facevo addosso). Oggi anche con Marta il giro nel Suq è una buona occasione per fare qualche foto street.
When you leave the Compound or the Fanateer area, the nice part of Jubail, and you enter the Souq, the environment changes and you notice it. At first sight things seem to get serious, strange faces all around: if I were in Turin now I would be scared and would try to escape. My first trip to the Souq dates back almost 2 years from now: with a few Western colleagues we went to the famous Indian restaurant: Cooxon. That time I was a bit scare, or better I felt uncomfortable (actually not, I was truly scared). Today I go to the Soq together with Marta and everytime it's a good opportunity to shoot some good street picture.
